Day 15 Tuesday 5/31
8:09 Wake up
9:05 leave the house to drive into the city, Kimmer, Carolyn, Annabel, and Carolyn’s mom are going, Victoria stays home to do senior program stuff.
10:05 we park
10:15 we meet the opera people we’d gone into the city to meet. My mom arranged a tour-ish thing for us with some of the people she knows at the opera, so we could see everything that goes on behind the show.
10:30 First stop: Costume Shop. This was really cool. We met up with a guy named Christopher who I think is the assistant head costume designer or something and he first took us through a couple of rooms filled with all the different kinds of costumes they have (which is a LOT of costumes) and then took us up to the workshop area and pointed out the different kind of “stations”. He then showed us the different costume designs for all four cycles of Wagner’s Ring Cycle which is what they are preparing for right now (Carolyn and Sharon are going to see the whole cycle in June, there are four different operas: Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried, and Götterdämmerung. Gotterdammerung was the main focus of our visit, because they’re opening just that piece of the cycle this Sunday. It was especially interesting to see it all because operas rarely put on the whole Ring Cycle because it is so long, there are actually people who travel all over the world watching Ring cycles. Gotterdammerung is over 5 hours long). Anyway, it was very interesting to see the different costumes and to talk about them. He gave us each a little book with the sketch designs of the various costumes and talked about the choices that were made for the costumes, including fabric and color, for example the woman who is one of the main causes of Siegfried’s death wears a dress the same color as the hunters who kill him, by the end of the show Brunnhilde’s wedding dress changes somber (doesn’t want to get married) silvers and whites to darker dirtier grays to show how she has been affected by everything. Then he took us to one of their spray rooms, where they spray paint whole outfits, then the room where they dye the cloth and where the woman we talked to mixes paints to look like oil and mud and stuff and then the room where they make all the hats.
11:30 Then we left (I slipped out of my third person tense, oh well) the costume shop and went back to the opera building. Then another person took up to the highest level, about 10 stories up, where they have all the motors which run the pulls that the set hangs off of and showed us how all of that stuff works. Then we went backstage, which is HUGE in that building because they need so much room for all their stuff. It’s really cool to see.
12:15 we went to lunch at a French restaurant called Absinthe which was very good, and no we didn’t drink any Absinthe.. of course.
2:00 we met back up with the opera people and went to watch the dress rehearsal. They gave us headsets so we could hear all the different stuff the director was saying, like the commands for the different effects and projection changes. We went backstage for a bit and watched them do a 1:27 second scene change, it was funny to see the guys taking all the big rocks and throwing them off the stage to each other and just very interesting in general. It was also really cool to watch the singers from backstage. Then we went back to our seats to watch it normally. Then after awhile we went down under the stage and saw the fog machines, went back up and watched, then went up to the light booths then back to watch.
5:30 rehearsal break for dinner, we left.
6:20 we go to the store, then come home and have crab cakes from whole foods and salad for dinner. It was a really fun day.

Day 13 (5/29)
Day 13
9:30 ughhasoihf. Tired. Early. We get up because we are going to meet the 10:40 ferry and go into the city, Carolyn and Victoria want to see the Carnaval parade in the Mission.
10:30 We miss the ferry. Variety of circumstances led to this. People are bummed out. Kimmer walks down to Tiburon before the rest because she wants to wander about. Carolyn is planning on joining her soon, and then aforementioned favorite person in the world of Carolyn’s (Harrison Bowers) is free to skype for a bit sooo she skypes with him. Yay! So it worked out quite well for Carolyn that they missed the ferry.

1:30ish Kimmer and Annabel make their way to Chinatown, Carolyn and Victoria catch the underground BART to the Mission.
2:20ish Carolyn and Victoria get to the Mission, however, they have missed the parade. Which was too bad but oh well. They buy various kinds of delicious, spicy food from people selling it in the streets. Carolyn goes to take pictures and finds that her lens is jammed for some reason. Awesome.
3:30 They leave the mission and take the BART back to the city to meet Kimmer and Annabel.
4:05 They’ve meet up with Victoria’s friend Jenny and find Kimmer and Annabel after making a few stops along the way in various interesting shop places. Commence wandering through Chinatown.
5:05 Carolyn buys a realllly cool kite. It’s an octopus.
5:20 the ferry is late.
5:30 still late.
5:40 finally on the ferry. Thomas tells them that they’re having three people over for dinner.
6:30 Everyone madly starts cleaning up and cooking. Thomas and my mom went to the San Rafael farmer market this morning and got lots of fresh vegetables and stuff.
6:40 Carolyn realizes her camera lens has a lock on it, which is why it wasn't working, and feels silly. Good news is that it works...
7ish the guests get there and help us cook
10:20 they leave, we commence to cleaning the kitchen while dancing around and listening to music (it’s the best way to do it).
11 we finish and then watch Doctor Who :)

7:20 we left to go to the Berkeley Rep theater (which you’re probably familiar with, Mr. Kaback)
8:07 the show starts, we saw Let Me Down Easy, written and performed by Anna Devere Smith. She also did that movie Twilight about the LA Riots, we watched it in English class sophomore year. She interviews people and then acts out their responses to her questions. Let Me Down Easy was about death and cancer and dealing with death. It was really, really good.
9:50ish the show ended, we drove home

1:00 Carolyn has spent the last hour and a half or so going just looking at all the photos she took because she took so many.
1-4ish Girls sit outside and hang out and lie in the sun (Victoria gets realllly sunburned) and do their various senior program activities. Carolyn writes her update for Thursday and starts her Friday update.
4:45 the girls walk down to Tiburon to get dinner at a café place which is good but overpriced because it’s where all the tourists go near the water and then get ice cream cones and wander around a bit and scoff at the tweens and then go see the…
6:30 Pirates of the Caribbean 4 in the tiny theater in Tiburon
9ish the movie gets out and they start walking home but then meet Carolyn’s mom and ride with her back to the house.

Day 10 (5/26)

7:15 Everyone wakes up, Kimmer, Annabel, and Victoria are going into the city, Carolyn stays behind because her mom wants her to sleep and get better.
Carolyn sleeps a bit and does some photo stuff and hangs around. At 2 she and her mom go to Tiburon to pick up the other girls from the 2:30 ferry.
8:16 Kimmer, Victoria, and Annabel start walking to the ferry
8:20 Kimmer, Victoria, and Annabel realize they must sprint till their lungs burst if they want to make it to the ferry on time
8:45 The girls (minus poor sick Carolyn) make it to the ferry and take off for the city.
9:20 Annabel is asked what country she is from. She is confused.
9:35 Annabel tastes homeade yogurt...yum
10:00 Annabel, Kimmer, and Victoria write for an hour in the sun.
11:00 Annabel, Kimmer, and Victoria take the metro to the Mission, the Hispanic neighborhood of San Fransisco. It is sunny and beautiful and they gallery hop all afternoon.
2:40 Now they’re all together they start driving toward Sebastopol (about a 90 min drive) which is where Paul and Jerry live. Paul used to work with Sharon at a law firm in New York, and it’s been great that Paul and Jerry live relatively close to the Winslow’s house because it’s allowed Sharon to renew her relationship with Paul (she didn’t know Jerry before). And they’re both really awesome people. Kind of like cool uncles for Carolyn. They have a flower business and grow flowers on their property which is absolutely gorgeous. They also do weddings and decorating and stuff. Oh, and they’re also absolutely AMAZING cooks and love entertaining and cooking for people.
4:00ish They get to Paul and Jerry’s house. Victoria, Annabel and Kimmer meet Paul and Jerry, their dogs Zeke and Jake and their cats.
4:20ish Paul shows KVA around their porch garden which includes pink lemon trees, a Buddha hand tree, Thai lime tree, lettuce (which they’re having for salad), flowers, orange trees, and kumquat trees. Then they go inside and chat and eat La Tur cheese (a mixture of goat, sheep, and cow milk) which is a really good soft cheese with a red pepper jelly and a jalapeno jelly
5ish Carolyn shows KVA around the front garden area (they have their amazing landscape gardens in the front and then it goes back into their back hydrangea (they have the most variety of hydrangeas I think in the states) gardens. Then KVA lie in the sun while Carolyn does photography (this is mainly where I took the 400 pictures).
7ish they get called in for dinner and they help serve the soup.
First course was an asparagus cream soup with creme fraiche that Paul had made for the first time. Absolutely delicious.
Salad course was salad made with lettuce from their garden with shrimp and fresh mango and their homemade salad dressing.
Main Course was roasted chicken (that had been brined in salt and sugar water) with potatoes and mushrooms (cooked under the chicken so they soak up the chicken fat)-are you drooling yet, Mr. Kaback? :) and lightly cooked in lemon and butter sugar snap peas
Dessert was lemon mousse with lemon-lime passion fruit sauce (I think I fed that to you once in a tart) drizzled over the top with blackberries.
So basically it was all really amazing (see the pictures-the dog is Jake). We helped clean up as much as they would let us and then drove home (around 8:40).

Day 9 (5/25)
Day 9
Rain. Though actually when it rains here it’s quite nice. And it looks like you’re at the end of the world because the fog and mist go all around the bay so you can’t see anything else. It’s cool. Anyway. I don’t remember the times so today (or rather yesterday…)is going to be a break in the minute by minute log. I hope you don’t mind too much. So yesterday people did various senior programish things (writing, drawing, photo editing etc) and then we went down to Tiburon to this tiny Mexican restaurant I’ve been wanting to try, it’s one of those places that looks like it would either be really good and authentic or totally sketchy. Thankfully, it was good and authentic. Then we all walked around Tiburon for a bit, and then Annabel and Kimmer went to write in the library. Victoria and I walked back to the house from Tiburon and well we were walking she convinced Annabel to go into the city with her because it had stopped raining. I couldn’t go because I had a dinner with my half-brother whom I hadn’t seen in at least 8 years *insert complicated family stuff here* so I hung around a bit and then went to meet him. Then we all hung out, went in the hot tub, and went to sleep. I took some Cold-Tylenol in hope that it would improve me for the next day. Short and sweet update.

10:34 updating blog. Carolyn has a picture of the day, she’ll upload it tomorrow. It was a full day, not sure what we’re doing tomorrow. It’s supposed to rain (only tomorrow though) but if it’s not raining too hard we might go into the city. We’ll have to see what happens overnight. Sorry about the shortness of the updating…

Day 7 (I feel like I should come up with more creative titles...)
Day 7
So, this one’s a bit late, sorry. And now I don’t really remember the times exactly but this is what happened:
8:09 Carolyn goes to school.
8:30ish Carolyn gets to school, goes to ceramics to glaze some stuff.
9ish Carolyn goes to find Mr. Kaback
9:15ish Carolyn finds Mr. Kaback in his office. He is surprised to see her at school even though he really shouldn’t be, I mean, c’mon where else would she be?
9:15ish to 10ish Carolyn hangs out with Mr. Kaback and updates him about what she and Annabel have been up to and shows him some pictures. Mr. Kaback tells her that she should do a photo of the day. She thinks this is a good idea and plans to put photos up on the blog in the future, assuming she can figure out how.
11:50 Kimmer and Mary get to the Winslow’s house, everyone leaves around 12:15 ish.
12:50 Kimmer, Carolyn, Sharon, and Mary are at the airport. Victoria arrives closely after. Annabel arrives kind of closely after.
Everyone goes through security, the timing for everything was good, they get on the plane. Man asks Annabel to switch seats with him so he can sit next to wife and small child. Out of the kindness of her heart she agrees, which means she is no longer across the aisle from Kimmer, Victoria, and Carolyn. Kimmer and Victoria switch spots because Kimmer is going to work and Carolyn and Victoria want to watch a movie (Waiting for Forever) It’s a pretty good movie. Kind of indie romance/drama. Cute. It makes Victoria almost cry. The plane ride is uneventful, they land early. Get luggage.
4:32 They have their luggage and it’s the first step out into Cali air.

5:17 Driving on the bridge (at the second pole thing).
5:45 ish get to the house. Carolyn shows everyone around.

Day 5
Day 5
6:30 Carolyn wakes up, goes back to sleep after awhile.
10:14 Carolyn wakes up and realizes the alarm she set didn’t go off. Awesome. No Empire State building for her. According to the website it gets super busy a bit before 11 especially on a sunny day after many rainy days…aka today.
10:30 Carolyn talks on the phone to Elizabeth
12:45ishCarolyn and Annabel head to Central Park
1ish Carolyn and Annabel find a nice place to sit. Annabel sketches. Carolyn talks photos. Carolyn has idea for photo project, and begins what she thinks of as “pieces of central park” (which will probably evolve into pieces of NYC and SF), meaning she takes pictures of pieces of people’s personality (what they’re doing, possessions, etc.) or something…
2ish Carolyn and Annabel move from their nice spot to walk around the park, Carolyn continues taking photos (sneak attack and sniper ones mostly)
2:30 ish Carolyn and Annabel happen upon a cool street show
3:20 ish Hannah Page finds Carolyn and Annabel. Fun times. Hannah joins them on their on going quest to find Annabel’s brother.
3:45ish they finally find Annabel’s brother and his girlfriend. Get some food at (but not from) Tavern on the Green
5:00 Carolyn leaves Central Park and catches a cab to the Met to meet Lara for the Alexander McQueen exhibit (once more with feeling. I may not have got to as many museums as planned, but I did make it to the Met three times haha). Also, it took FOREVER to get a cab but the cabbie I got was SUPER nice. Cheers.
5:40 Wait in line for 30 minutes
6:50 Finish going through exhibit
7:00 Cab back to the apartment. Fun times with Lara. She’s the best.
7:45ish everyone watches a great episode of Doctor Who (love David Tennant)
8:50ihs Lara has to leave. Sad day. But she and Carolyn are going to hang out this summer. Yay!
9:20ish actually I just don’t remember the different times of these things but basically we found a Thai restaurant to order food from after awhile and then did random stuff (I started writing this update) until the food arrives sometime after 10

1:40 a.m. The girls die with laughter after watching too much (except really it’s never too much) british comedy featuring Catherine Tate as Lauren Cooper (just an example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpgVokQEchA)
9:40 the girls poke their heads outside, still cloudy
(in between time which lacked good updating, but basically consisted of attempts at planning the day and such like)
11:14 The sun comes out!!! Girls are greatly happy to see something other than rain
11:16 Carolyn heads out with her camera to take pictures since the sun is out
12:05 Carolyn drags out her photography book and starts to read about how to work her camera
1:07 Annabel outs to get her boy toy and his friends from the bus stopped ‘cause they’d just shipped in from Boston. Taylor and Carolyn stay at the apartment at work on random senior program stuff
2:20 The crew (now girls + boys) head out to the Village to meet Elizabeth (Louise’s godmother)
2:38 The Crew experiences physics on the subway
2:46 still quoting Catherine Tate (I still ain’t bovvered!)
3:15 Elizabeth finds us
3:32 the rest of the crew heads off, Elizabeth and Carolyn head up to the 150’s to go to a graveyard for photography
CAROLYN:
3:40 While on the subway Carolyn makes friends with a small child, and spends most of the ride making various faces at him, which he imitates
4:11 they made it to the graveyard only to discover that it closed at 4. Fun times. But Carolyn got some great photos before (and after this point as well actually, will post some soon, she needs to go through and edit them, which she will do after writing this)
5:15 Elizabeth and Carolyn head back
ANNABEL:
3:45 Annabel, Taylor, and the boys discover that since they have absolutely no clue what to do, they will stop in a best buy and try to fix Taylor's camera. Unfortunately, Taylor does not have her camera. Mega oops.
4:00 Taylor and Annabel introduce the boys to gelato. All is right with the world.
4:15 Awesome elderly lady asks Taylor, Annabel, and the boys if she can take their picture for her photography class. They oblige, of course.
4:35 Elderly lady returns out of boredom. She has waited in line for help from her instructor who is apparently quite busy. The boys give her their email addresses so they can have the pictures when she's finished.
4:40 Taylor/Annabel/Boys crew heads over to join Carolyn and Elizabeth
5:45 The Crew is back together and head out after meeting at Elizabeth’s office

8:00 When the girls meant to get up to go to the Met. Carolyn knew last night that that was just not happening.
10:20 Carolyn finally gets up instead of falling back to sleep, Taylor and Annabel are still asleep.
10:40 Carolyn wakes up Taylor and Annabel. She is meeting her sister’s godmother
Elizabeth at 11:45 and wants to know if they are coming. Annabel says maybe. It depends. Carolyn finds this very helpful.
10:45 Carolyn checks blog and sees posts from one Will Kaback, or rather Mr.Kaback using his son’s blog account and is amused. Then she reads the comments aloud to Annabel and they laugh. Very amusing. They are definitely no longer switching advisers.
11:03 Carolyn realizes that Annabel’s shower sounds like the TARDIS and is happy.
11:04 It’s raining.
11:06 Annabel says “hmmm thoughts. Thinking. Thoughts. Thinking. Hmmmmm too early for thinking” when asked if she has any thoughts for Mr. Kaback. It’s not that early.
11:17 Carolyn realizes she had a weird dream about Blake last night.
11:18 They’re getting ready to go out so Carolyn has to stop typing everything.
12:00 After various struggles they meet Elizabeth for lunch
1:39 They attempt to get a subway to the Met and realize they have gone the wrong way

2:30 Taylor sights Annabel and Carolyn at the Met

3:30 Carolyn buys a journal in which she can right the 30-by-30 second updates Mr. Kaback has requested. It kind of matches her prom dress.
4:07 After standing outside in the POURING rain for probably 10 minutes Carolyn and Annabel are finally in a cab. After having two, seriously two, cabbies pull over, ask them where they’re going, and then drive away. The girls are SOAKING wet and pretty much look like they’d gone swimming in a lake. The lake of NYC. But they have animal crackers. So they will be fine.
4:17 and mint chocolate from the Guthrie.
4:18 Annabel sneezes.

6:34 Carolyn feels that she should do something with photos. And is sad that it’s so rainy because it pretty much sucks for photography. But she will hopefully make it work. Somehow.

8:00 When the girls meant to get up to go to the Met. Carolyn knew last night that that was just not happening.
10:20 Carolyn finally gets up instead of falling back to sleep, Taylor and Annabel are still asleep.
10:40 Carolyn wakes up Taylor and Annabel. She is meeting her sister’s godmother
Elizabeth at 11:45 and wants to know if they are coming. Annabel says maybe. It depends. Carolyn finds this very helpful.
10:45 Carolyn checks blog and sees posts from one Will Kaback, or rather Mr.Kaback using his son’s blog account and is amused. Then she reads the comments aloud to Annabel and they laugh. Very amusing. They are definitely no longer switching advisers.
11:03 Carolyn realizes that Annabel’s shower sounds like the TARDIS and is happy.
11:04 It’s raining.
11:06 Annabel says “hmmm thoughts. Thinking. Thoughts. Thinking. Hmmmmm too early for thinking” when asked if she has any thoughts for Mr. Kaback. It’s not that early.
11:17 Carolyn realizes she had a weird dream about Blake last night.
11:18 They’re getting ready to go out so Carolyn has to stop typing everything.
12:00 After various struggles they meet Elizabeth for lunch
1:39 They attempt to get a subway to the Met and realize they have gone the wrong way
2:00 They get on the right subway
2:30 Taylor sights Annabel and Carolyn at the Met
2:45 Annabel and Carolyn go into the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Met. Cool. Very creepy music.
3:30 Carolyn buys a journal in which she can right the 30-by-30 second updates Mr. Kaback has requested. It kind of matches her prom dress.
4:07 After standing outside in the POURING rain for probably 10 minutes Carolyn and Annabel are finally in a cab. After having two, seriously two, cabbies pull over, ask them where they’re going, and then drive away. The girls are SOAKING wet and pretty much look like they’d gone swimming in a lake. The lake of NYC. But they have animal crackers. So they will be fine.
4:17 and mint chocolate from the Guthrie.
4:18 Annabel sneezes.

6:34 Carolyn feels that she should do something with photos. And is sad that it’s so rainy because it pretty much sucks for photography. But she will hopefully make it work. Somehow.

6:42 Taylor wants to know where they should get Chinese food from. Carolyn doesn’t know. Annabel is in a different room skyping with her real friends + her boy toy.

Update
Now home from War Horse, which was super duper good. Very emotionally involved. Well for some people. Who don't have black souls (aka not Annabel). Anyway, it was actually just really good. Super cool horse puppet things. And very artistic.

8:36 AM: Carolyn and Annabel meet at Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport.
8:52 AM: Carolyn and Annabel get through security.
9:07 AM: Carolyn buys an iced caramel latte as Annabel sips on a chocolate milk.
9:09 AM: Annabel buys National Geographic. She is content.
9:15 AM: Carolyn threatens to throw Annabel’s phone into the Hudson River.
9:17 AM: Taylor Rondestvedt has been sighted.
9:20 AM: Annabel starts making a list of what has happened thus far.
9:33 AM: Carolyn and Annabel get settled in their seats.
9:34 AM: The person sitting net to Carolyn and Annabel arrives: the girls officially do not have to get up for the remainder of the flight.
9:35 AM: Carolyn checks her email and sees no response from Mr. Kaback: both girls are highly distressed.
9:36 AM: Carolyn notices that there are in-flight movie devices. She is happy: she likes those.
9:37 AM: Annabel decides to frighten Carolyn.
9:37 AM: Carolyn realizes that Annabel is scary and is starting to have second thoughts about this trip.
9:39 AM: Man awkwardly reads list over Annabel’s shoulder.
9:40 AM: Carolyn is NOSY (Annabel is secretive).
9:41 AM: Man coughs right over Annabel. Yuck.
9:43 AM: Annabel discovers that Carolyn makes an excellent pillow and no longer regrets leaving her pillow pet at home.
9:44 AM: A nasty stench wafts through the plane.
9:44 AM: Carolyn is distressed that the forecast still predicts rain.
9:44 AM: Annabel’s boy toy is being mushy. Annabel prefers the term beau. Carolyn disagrees.
9:45 AM: Annabel and Carolyn shower each other in compliments.
9:46 AM: Annabel is mean to poor Carolyn, who deserves it.
9:47 AM: Bears. Beets. Battlestar Gallactica.
9:47 AM: Carolyn’s sassometer is in the red.
9:48 AM: The people in front of Annabel and Carolyn burst into song.
9:50 AM: Annabel realizes that the rate at which she is recording what is happening MUST decrease if she wants to maintain her sanity
9:54 AM: Carolyn sends Mr. Kaback another email.
9:55 AM: Annabel and Carolyn hate on their iPhones.
9:58 AM: A baby cries.
10:00 AM: Pilot announces a 45 minute delay. Carolyn and Annabel are absolutely crushed.
10:02 AM: The lady in seat 18A opens her subway salad and Annabel catches a whiff of banana peppers. She is suddenly extremely hungry.
10:03 AM: Carolyn convinces Annabel that it is not lunchtime yet. Annabel’s sandwich still beckons.
10:04 AM: Carolyn’s logic is flawless, but Annabel’s stomach doesn’t care.
10:05 AM: Carolyn discovers that the pilot was lying and that the plane is in fact delayed by 75 minutes. Annabel fumes.
10:08 AM: Delta does an about face and decides that the plane is only going to be delayed by 25 minutes. Annabel is growing tired of writing updates about plane delays.
10:10 AM: Annabel takes her sandwich out to admire it.
10:11 AM: Annabel gives in and devours the whole thing.
10:18 AM: Carolyn realizes she should have fed her pet dinosaur earlier.
10:20 AM: Carolyn realizes she wants a sandwich too.
10:20 AM: Obnoxious teenage girls (the worst) across the row loudly play annoying video on iPhone. Annabel and Carolyn consider throwing something at them. But not the sandwich.
10:24 AM: Carolyn realizes she was mistaken. The teenaged girl is actually a middle aged bleached blonde orange skinned huge fake boobed woman with a high pitched voice who is once more playing a loud video. Rawr. Annabel thinks Carolyn is being judgmental. Carolyn agrees.
10:27 AM: Annabel loses and then regains her faith in humanity.
10:32 AM: Middle aged teenagers eat lollipops.
10:33 AM: Carolyn reads, Annabel draws, and plane taxis.
10:40 AM: Plane takes off!!!!!!!
11:57 AM: Both girls have now eaten their sandwiches and are about to watch Dr Who. Still no reply from Mr. Kaback.
12:00 PM: Annabel starts her first episode of Dr Who.
12:21 PM: Dr Who freaks Annabel out but she still likes it except for the mushy part.
12:31 PM: Taylor passes the girls on her way to the bathroom and they all discuss Billie Piper.
12:40 PM: Annabel gags due to all the mush. So does Carolyn.
12:44 PM: Dr Who ends and Annabel is hooked.
1:13 PM: Touchdown in New York (at hyperspeed?!?!!)

2:41 PM: Girls enter line for taxis, luggage in hand
2:54 PM: Girls finally get a cab. Still no reply from Mr. Kaback. The girls feel abandoned.
3:20 PM: Annabel and Taylor go grocery shopping and purchase teddy grahams, ramen, macaroni and cheese, tomato soup, bread, cheese, ice cream, ice cream cones, and cookie dough. The girls are in for a nutritious week.
5:32 PM: Annabel finishes typing up a summary of the day. She is DEAD tired.

So basically for anyone who is reading this who isn't Mr. Kaback, which is kind of weird because this is pretty much for Mr. Kaback alone, but hey nbd. Basically Annabel and I are exploring NYC and then San Francisco (hope there aren't any creepers reading this). I'm doing photography and she's doing art/writing. Fun times. Today, we have a minute by minute special for you about what we did today. In case you were wondering. We've set up shop, got the blog going, and are ready to dive in tomorrow with senior program related activities. Also, tonight we're going to see War Horse. Woot. Also, blogging is weird. Not sure how I like this, but I'm sure it will get better.
Update on my senior program stuff (btw this is Carolyn if you haven't realized that yet :) I've been thinking about the themes I want to do for my photography, and pending what I actually am able to find in the city, I'm planning on focusing on bicycles, doors (and parts of doors; door knobs, hinges, etc.), and angel statues (I'll explain that at some point) which means hanging out in cemeteries (maybe..unless I decide that's too sketch). This should be interesting. Oh, and also, of course, working on capturing physics in my photography. Good stuff.
